My name is Workineh Ayele Yami. I am married and have two sons and one daughter. A member of the Meserete Kristos Church in Nazareth, Ethiopia, introduced me to Christ while in my late teens in 1991. The leaders of Nazareth MKC instructed me in the course, “Following Christ”, and baptized me in 1992.
After seven years, the leaders of Eastern Nazareth MKC invited me to serve as a full time minister. After I responded positively, they sent me for training in Wollega Bible School for six weeks in the Oromo lan-guage. Following that, I established two local churches in the Oromo Community at the outskirt of Naza-reth (1998-2003).
I had a vision to study theology and wanted to be a teacher in a theological school. To realize this end, I joined MK College as a student in 2003. Hence, I worked hard as per my vision and graduated suma cum laude in May 2007. I served my local church for another two years. Then, I joined MK College for the sec-ond time in October 2009 (now) as an instructor.
I am thankful to the former president of our Seminary, Ato Negash Kebede, who facilitated for me to do my MA in Ethio-pian Graduate School of Theology (EGST). There I earned two Master’s Degrees: Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological studies (MABTS) and Master of Arts in Leadership and Man-agement (MALM) I am thankful for our generous donors who made our vision a reality.
Now I am teaching in the fields of both Leadership and Biblical Theology. On top of my teaching career, I am also serving my Church in different leadership capacities – as the Chairperson of the leadership of my local congregation, Secretary of the Execu-tive Committee of the Nazareth MKC Region and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the National Church. MK College is the place where I experienced a paradigm shift in my thinking as I encountered various viewpoints in my academic formation. I encourage leaders and potential leaders of the church to join our Seminary. It can make a positive difference in ones life and ministry!
